Tekken 4-Hey, who turned on the gravity?-By Ryan

Well Namco has decided to pretty much make a complete revision of Tekken, kinda' like the one from Soul Edge to Soul Calibur. The only thing not revised were the moves, though there were some added. They added some new characters, new moves, totally redid the graphics (they look bloody awsome now) and they also turned on the gravity...

This new found gravity means many things, first it means no more flinging the 2 ton PJack or the 300 pound Ginryu 30 feet in the air (and not just because they didn't make to Tekken 4.) When guys jump in the air or do moves like Law's spin kick it actually looks like they really are jumping, and gravity pulls them down naturally, it looks really cool. Also, the gravity seems to have pulled down everyone's hair so everybody has long hanging hair, not even Paul's mighty flat top seems to have survived it, though Heihachi seems to have slipped by...

With the changing graphics came new costumes, they all look pretty good, nothing too flashy or elaborate except for Yoshimitsu who's been redone completely. Now he's like a skeleton inside his suit of armor and his second costume looks like a whole different character all together. There was one problem though, Heihachi's new sudo sumo costume... it looks really lame, like a big old person diaper or something... well I guess Heihachi is getting pretty old...

The new characters are pretty cool, Eddy Gordo is replaced with a female equivalent and the wood thing that would mimic different characters is replaced with Combot. Forest Law was replaced with his father Marshal Law which isn't too bad since they're pretty much exactly the same though I think Forest looked a lot cooler (Marshal looks kinda' Hispanic...) There's a new guy named Violet... yes a guy named Violet, and yes, he is as feminine as he sounds, he doesn't pack too many power hits but he can bust skulls none the less.

All the areas have been scrapped and they've made all new ones, the areas are now confined and no longer infinite floors that they were. They're all pretty cool but the forest and the mall are really well done, there's tons and tons of detail and they make the game an even greater joy to play. Since the areas are now inclosed you can use the walls to bounce people off of making excellent combos and adding a little more realism.

All in all it's a bloody awsome game and you should rush out right now to go play it, luckily, I had the fortune of playing it on Gameworks' twenty foot screen (the only way to really play Tekken if you ask me.) I give Tekken 4 a 9 out of 10 on the cool game O' meter for good game play, awsome graphics and a pretty sound track.
